JORGE PEREZ,
THE ONE
The
Related Group of Florida is one of the largest and most innovative
residential developers in South Florida and Chairman/CEO Jorge
Perez is the reason why. It is his vision and leadership that
have seen The Related Group emerge over the course of the
past two decades to become a player of national significance.

Born
in Argentina to Cuban-American parents, Jorge Perez graduated
summa cum laude and valedictorian from CW Post College, subsequently
earning a master's degree in urban planning at the University
of Michigan. He launched his career in South Florida as an
urban planner for the City of Miami.
Today,
he is the majority owner of The Related Group of Florida.
Since 1979, the Miami-based company has developed a portfolio
of more than 40,000 individual units worth well over $2.5
billion in real estate assets. The company currently has six
condominium and mixed-use projects underway, with another
seven slated to break ground in 2001.
In
addition to significantly changing the face of South Florida's
skyline, Jorge Perez is having a profound impact on South
Florida's cultural scene. An internationally esteemed art
collector with more than 400 original canvases displayed throughout
his home, Mr. Perez is a trustee of the Miami Art Museum.
He is also spearheading the initiative to enlarge and relocate
MAM to Bicentiennial Park where he proposes developing a world-class
science museum.
In
short, it's no wonder Jorge Perez was named "2000 Business
Leader of the Year" by Miami Business Magazine. He's a man
shaping the future of South Florida and an individual destined
to solidify South Florida's rising stature as a world-class
center of business, commerce, finance, education and the cultural
arts.
